Question
Issue: [Fix] Can't disable Focus Assist in Windows
Hello, I have an issue I hope you can help me with. I do not want to use Focus Assist in Windows, so I tried to disable it. However, after restarting my PC, it is enabled again, and it is kind of annoying to disable it every time. Is there a fix for this?
Solved Answer
Windows Focus Assist is the perfect tool for a distraction-free work experience. Once turned on, it will automatically mute notifications, alerts, and other hindrances that can interrupt your workflow or gaming session. You can find this feature in the Action Center located in the system tray and choose from several options: whether to have it activated full time, off completely, or set up specific times of activation and deactivation throughout the day.
Focus Assist allows users to customize their notifications and pick only the ones they deem important, such as calls, texts, or reminders. This feature also comes with different levels of intensity, ranging from “Priority Only,” which screens upcoming messages for certain types of significance, to “Alarms Only,” which silences all activities except alarms. Also, it can help extend a laptop's battery life by cutting down on background tasks and unimportant notifications.
Despite from seeming quite useful for many, some users prefer not to employ this Windows feature, and usually, there is no problem with getting rid of it via the settings. Unfortunately, some users reported that they can't disable Focus Assist in Windows even after trying to do so.
According to multiple reports on various IT forums, once Focus Assist is disabled, it does not come up at the time. The problems start when a computer is rebooted, and the feature simply comes back. As many users reported frustration because they needed to turn off this feature every time, there are luckily some solutions that can be helpful.
In the below steps, we show how to resolve a situation where you can't disable Focus Assist. To exclude issues such as corrupted system files, we recommend first running a PC repair tool RestoroMac Washing Machine X9.

- Ensure Focus Assist is set to the Off option.
- Under Automatic rules, make sure each of the rules is switched to the Off position as well.

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar > Notifications - On the right, double-click Turn Off Quiet Hours entry.
- Select Disabled option.

- Restart your PC.
3. Run SFC and DISM
Corrupted system files might cause all kinds of malfunctions, so we recommend running commands that would address this:
- Type cmd in Windows search
- Right-click on Command Prompt result and select Run as administrator
- When User Account Control shows up, click Yes
- Paste the following command into the new window:
sfc /scannow - Press Enter and wait till the scan is finished

The software provides dedicated servers for torrenting and streaming, ensuring optimal performance and not slowing you down. You can also bypass geo-restrictions and view such services as Netflix, BBC, Disney+, and other popular streaming services without limitations, regardless of where you are.
Don’t pay ransomware authors – use alternative data recovery options
Malware attacks, particularly ransomware, are by far the biggest danger to your pictures, videos, work, or school files. Since cybercriminals use a robust encryption algorithm to lock data, it can no longer be used until a ransom in bitcoin is paid. Instead of paying hackers, you should first try to use alternative recovery methods that could help you to retrieve at least some portion of the lost data. Otherwise, you could also lose your money, along with the files. One of the best tools that could restore at least some of the encrypted files – Data Recovery Pro.
