Bing is a legitimate search engine provided by Microsoft and is used by many users worldwide. However, those who did not choose Bing as their main search engine sometimes notice it appeared on MS Edge or another browser seemingly out of nowhere.
This usually happens when a browser gets hijacked, i.e., potentially unwanted programs get secretly installed in a software bundle from a third-party site. Consequently, web browser settings get altered, and users are forced to see Bing each time they open their browsers. If that is the problem you are experiencing, you need to remove all the unwanted programs from your computer. For more information, please check out this article.
However, a PDF file directing you to Bing's homepage is quite unusual. In most of the cases, this file type is opened via the default web browser if no appropriate reader application is installed (for example, Adobe Reader). In such a case, however, a new tab on your web browser should open, and a PDF document displayed - Bing should not be present unless you opened it yourself.
In any case, we suggest you perform a full system scan with security software to check it for malware, as malicious software might induce strange behavior when it comes to various system/program processes and file associations.
