What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that tells a merchant's system that a visitor came from uGetFix. If you click such a link and make a qualifying purchase (or sign up for a service) within the merchant's attribution window, we receive a commission. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay arriving at the merchant's site directly.
Which products and programmes do we work with?
We currently maintain affiliate relationships with providers in the following categories:
- Security software — including antivirus, anti-malware, and endpoint protection tools (e.g. Malwarebytes).
- VPN services — privacy-focused virtual private network providers.
- System optimisation tools — disk cleaners, driver updaters, and performance utilities that are evaluated and tested before recommendation.
- Backup and recovery software — data recovery and cloud backup solutions.
- Browser extensions and productivity tools — where relevant to our content categories.
This list may expand as new programmes are added. We disclose each relationship at article level where applicable.
Our recommendation standards
A product earns a recommendation on uGetFix because our team judged it genuinely useful — not because we have a financial relationship with the vendor. Our process:
- Products are evaluated independently of whether an affiliate programme exists.
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews.
- If a product we previously recommended deteriorates in quality, we update or remove the recommendation regardless of the affiliate relationship.
- Products that do not meet our quality threshold are not recommended, even if a higher commission is available.
- Affiliate income helps fund the free guides and tools on this site. Without it, the site could not operate without paywalling content.
User-contributed content
Pro and VIP members may pitch products to our newsletter audience under approved conditions. Such pitches are always clearly labelled as member-submitted and are not editorial endorsements by uGetFix. We do not vet or guarantee the accuracy of member-submitted pitches.
Sponsored content
If we publish sponsored articles or guides in the future, they will be clearly labelled with a "Sponsored" or "Paid partnership" marker at the top of the post. Sponsored content follows the same factual accuracy standards as editorial content, but is produced in collaboration with the paying partner.
