Before you download
- The recommended fix is still Microsoft's installer, linked on the msvcr100.dll page: it puts the files in the Windows folders and keeps them updated.
- This ZIP is for the cases the installer does not cover: a program that needs the files in its own folder, or a PC where the installer will not run.
- x64 is for 64-bit programs on 64-bit Windows. A 32-bit program needs the x86 set, even on a 64-bit PC.
What to do with the files
- Unpack the ZIP.
- Copy the DLL files into the folder of the program that shows the error, the folder with its .exe file.
- Start the program again. Do not copy the files into System32 or SysWOW64: run the installer for that.
