Mscoree.dll not found or missing error
on Windows

Hi. Whenever I want to launch an app in Windows 10, I receive an error claiming mscoree.dll is missing. Could you please assist with this, I'd be grateful.

Windows consists of many components that help it to operate correctly, for example, built-in apps such as Microsoft Store allows users to download and install new apps easily without having to access third-party sources. Fix 3. Run SFC and DISM

If the problem lies within corrupted system files, you could remediate the situation by restoring the Windows image or checking for integrity violations via the elevated Command Prompt.

• Type cmd in Windows search and hit Enter
• Click Yes in the User Account Control prompt
• Copy and paste in the following command and press Enter:
  

  sfc /scannow

• Wait till the scan is finished and use the following commands, pressing Enter after each:
  

  dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth
  dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

• Restart your PC.

  

Fix 4. Register the DLL file

• Open Command Prompt as administrator as explained above
• Copy and paste the following command and press Enter:
  

  Regsvr32 mscoree.dll

• Restart your system.

  

Fix 5. Reset Windows

If none of the methods above helped, reset Windows as follows. Make sure you backup your personal files as a precautionary measure:

• Right-click on Start and pick Settings
• Go to Update & Security and pick Recovery
• Find Reset this PC section and click Get Started
• Select Keep my files > Cloud download

  

• Your system will restart several times.
