Missing “Open With” Option Bug
on Windows

Although I’m using Windows 10 OS for a month or more, I released that when I right-click on app, photo or any other item on PC, “open with” option is missing just now. Although I’m not using this option very frequently, sometimes I need it, so please tell me if it’s possible to have it on the right click context menu? Thanks!

Although Windows 10 OS and its superior new features are enjoyed by millions of people, there are many unsatisfied people since Windows appears to be very sensitive to errors. This time, people reported about an Open With option, which is missing on the right-click context menu. How to Fix Missing “Open With” Option Bug on Windows 10?

As we have already noted, you have to be very careful when fixing Windows registries. That’s because an accidental removal or replacement of the wrong files can cause further problems due to which you may lose access to important system programs. Before you get started with the manual Open With option bug, out recommendation would be to try fixing this issue manually. That would be a much easier task since you just have to install a PC optimization tool, for example, [d1] or [rev id=”RegCure Pro”], and run a full system scan with it. In case you are fond of manual error fix, perform the following steps:

1. Click Win key and type regedit.
2. Click on the first offer that Windows provides and wait for the Registry Editor to open.
3. If you receive a confirmation window that simply contains Yes/No options, click Yes and to proceed. If, however, you are asked to enter a password, you must have set it before, so enter your password and hit Enter afterwards.
4. On the left side, you should see a heading Computer. Find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT under it and click on it.
5. After that, click * symbol  and select shellex.
6. Finally, click on ContextMenuHandlers and find Open With key on the list.
7. If there is no such key, then you have to create it manually. For that, right-click ContextMenuHandlers one more time and navigate to New -> Key.
8. When the key is being created, name it Open With.
9. Double click on it and click on the file that is named as Default.
10. Now you should see a heading Edit String with the Value Data entry in it.
11. Enter {09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936} value there and hit OK.
12. Finally, close Registry editor and Restart your PC.
