The first instance of Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory. Setup Aborted. Error 5: Access Is Denied error has been recorded in 2011 and prevailed on Windows 7 operating system. However, quite a lot of people complain about this bug these days and claim being unable to fix it manually. Unable To Execute Files In The Temporary Directory pop-up means that your system has been misconfigured in some point, which is why your  user doesn’t get the permission to run a setup file of you preferred software. Although the majority of the cases appear on Windows 7 version, some people are struggling to install software due to this bug on other Windows versions, including Windows 10. The bug appears when the user of a misconfigured PC attempts to install any softwarevia an executable file. Instead of a running setup, the screen delivers a pop-up window saying

Unable to execute file in the temporary directory. Setup aborted. Error 5: Access is denied.

Unfortunately, but nothing can be done to proceed with the installation. The pop-up can be closed easily, but if the user tries to run the setup one more time, Error 5 will pop-up again. Although this error is not the simple one, there are several methods that appear to be useful in fixing this bug.

  5. All these permissions inherited from the C:\Users\[Username]\ folder. Therefore, if the option Include inheritable permissions from this object’s parent’ is not marked with a tick, click on Change Permissions.
  6. Mark ‘Include inheritable permissions from this object’s parent’ with a tick, click Apply and then OK.
