Seriously? Another cumulative update fails to install??? I’ve been trying to run KB3194798 update for my Windows 10 version 1607, but in vain. Each time leads to an error code that reports: “Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3194798) - Error 0x800705b4” or “Failed to complete installing updates. Undoing changes.” Does anyone know if a patch has already been released? I would appreciate any help.

At the beginning of October, 2016, Microsoft has released another cumulative update KB3194798, which is supposed to be installed on systems running Windows 10 Anniversary Update. As any other cumulative update, KB3194798 includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Win 10 applications and prevent system from bugs. The problem is that just like previous updates, KB3194798 cannot be installed on all PCs smoothly. People have reported that they are struggling with the installation of this error and encountering an error code 0x800705b4. The full error message says:

or
Failed to complete installing updates. Undoing changes.

The PC then reboots automatically and works in the way it was working before running the cumulative update. After a while, people claim to receive an offer to run the update again, but other attempts to install it ends up in the same way. Since Microsoft hasn’t officially confirmed this bug yet, it’s not clear what the reasons of the cumulative update KB3194798 installation failure are. The value of the error is 0x800705b, but it does not mean a lot since it’s not specified yet. 1. Download/Install KB3194798 Update manually

According to Windows experts, KB3194798 installation bug may be triggered by incomplete update download. Consequently, some of the components are not decompressed successfully, which is why the update cannot be run. Therefore, one of the solutions would be to download and install the patch manually. 2. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

1. Click Win key + X simultaneously and select Control Panel.
2. Type troubleshooter, and hit Enter.
3. Select Troubleshooting and click Fix problems with Windows Updates (under System and Security).
4. Select View All and click on Windows Update.
5. In the next window, click Next.
6. After that, opt for Advanced and the Run as an Administrator.
7. Place checks alongside all the boxes, click Apply, and then Next.
8. Finally, click Close and check if Cumulative Update KB3194798 can be installed successfully.

3. Try downloading Windows 10 1607 Script

Quite a lot of people reported that they managed to fix cumulative update KB3194496 bug after downloading a script that has been released for cumulative update KB3194496 (Cumulative Update 14393.222) some time ago.
