Although the Fall Creators Update has already reached the end of the development phase, there’s a couple of weeks more to wait until it reaches home users. The update is expected to launch on October 17, 2017, and will bring about a handful of improvements.

As usually, Windows Insiders in the Fast ring are the first ones to try new Windows updates, and the Fall Creators Update is not an exception. Yesterday, October 2, all Insiders in the Fast Ring get the chance to install the update. 16299.15 build for the Fall Creators Update is the last full build available for Insiders. This move means that Microsoft has fully finished the development of the update and will provide the patches via Windows Update service.

Despite the fact that the Fall Creators Update has been discussed widely for the last couple of month, less tech-involved Windows 10 users may still be unaware of what new features are up to come. Thus, we’ll try to introduce a couple of biggest changes that are awaited by the bulk of Windows 10 enthusiasts.

Microsoft Edge

Microsoft Edge, which is a default Windows 10 web browser, receives improvements in priority. The company puts all efforts to make its own web browser easy, fast, and stable. In a nutshell, in the Fall Creators Update, Microsoft Edge will show up more stable and feature better PDF and EPUB support. Besides, the saved favorites will be accessible, editable, and shared directly from the UI. These are just a few examples of the whole bunch of Edge’s improvements.

Mouse, keyboard, touch screen improvements

  • Updated Touch Keyboard with Shape Writing;
  • Added one-handed mode;
  • Improved handwriting panel;
  • Added page scrolling with a pen feature.

Changes in Setting

  • Storage Sense automatically deletes files older than 30 days from the download folder;
