Verizon Message+ not working or keeps crashing
on Windows

Hi. I just can't get my Message+ app to work properly. It lags at random times or crashes with the "Unfortunately, Message+ has stopped" error. These problems started a few weeks ago - this is very frustrating as I use the app constantly. Any ideas on how to deal with this?

Message+ is a popular communication app provided by Verizon to users on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android platforms. Just like many other similar applications such as Discord or Skype, it allows users to send and receive messages and make calls, send multimedia content, and much more.

One thing that separates the app from the others is that it allows users to sync their conversations among multiple devices, making it extremely convenient. This is probably one of the reasons why Message+ is so broadly used in various countries.

Unfortunately, many users started to complain about various issues that they experience with the app. Some people said they experience minor inconveniences, such as Message+ randomly shutting down or the inability to attach a picture in some cases. To others, the problems were far greater, to the point that they could not launch the app at all, or it simply kept crashing again and again.

There are problems with the app's basic functions as well. Users complained that messages are not always being sent out or that they are not being loaded when received on various platforms. To put it short, Message+ crashes, lag, and other issues have made the user experience rather negative.

Method 1. Restart your device

Method 2. Clear your app cache

Android devices

Keep in mind that the layout might differ from phone to phone, depending on a brand and model:

• Open Settings on your phone and go to Apps or Apps & notifications section
• Here, you should see the list of all the installed apps (if not tap the See all apps option)
• From the list, find Message+ app - select it
• Tap the Storage and cache

  

• Here, Clear Storage and Clear cache.

After you are done, clear cache and data for Google Play App from the App list.

iOS devices

• Open Settings on your iPhone
• Go to General > iPhone storage
• Select Message+ app from the list
• Tap Offload App.

  

Method 3. Tweak app permissions

Insufficient permissions might also cause various issues with message receiving and sending.

• Go to Settings > Apps once more
• Locate Messages app and tap it
• Here, select the Permissions section
• Remove Phone, SMS, Mic, and other permissions

  

• Now go to Message+ app and ensure that all the permissions are granted to it. This way, Message app will be replaced by Message+ as your default communications app.

Method 4. Reinstall the app

If none of the above methods helped you solve the app's issues, you should reinstall it.

• Open Settings and go to Apps once again
• Go the the Message+ app
• Select Uninstall
• Visit Google Play Store and re-download the app once again.
