Issue: How to make a full backup copy of your Windows 10 using System Image Backup?
I was wondering if it is possible to backup all of the Windows 10 OS at once? Or can this be done only with individual folders or files? If it is possible I hope this is not an overly complex procedure. I’m not very good with this new OS just yet.
There are numerous reasons to keep a backup copy of your personal data, be it your school work, job assignments or simply sentimental family pictures that you took years ago. Many things, including malware attacks, hardware failure or removal by accident may damage or destroy your files irreversibly. Perhaps the main threats that have direct and destructive impact on your files are the ransomware viruses. These viruses are known for taking over computers specifically for the purpose of targeting the data stored on the hard disk or external storage drives. One of the most active of these viruses today is called ODIN. It encrypts data with complex algorithm that is even attributable to the military-grade level. Thus, after the encryption, files and even some applications stored on the computer and external storage drives become virtually inaccessible. They may only be regained by purchasing the decryption tool from the ransomware creators. Of course, none of the experts recommend this option and urge the users to make backup copies of the important files regularly, so that the needed data could be easily restored in case of an emergency. Besides, at the same time, this helps to stop feeding the hacker’s motivation to create more of these programs.
When it comes to the backup itself, you may find yourself lost among the numerous available options. There are various software that you can download or purchase that can do the job for you. But Microsoft has introduced an integrated image backup option that can be used to backup your whole computer system. This involves operating system information, its settings, programs and files, and of course, your personal data. With such a backup in store, you can be safe that any piece of the information will be lost to malicious ransomware viruses or disappear due to some other misfortunes. So how does this image backup work?
