Can I have iTunes for Windows 10? Sorry for the question that may seem stupid for some tech savvy people, but isn’t it for Apple OS only?

Although it has been developed by Apple Inc., it supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 as well. If you have been looking for a reliable and content-rich media library on Windows 10 OS, iTunes will stand its purpose and transcend your expectations. However, it’s not sufficient to download and install the application to use all iTunes services on Windows. You will also be prompted to create Apple ID for Windows and authorize your Windows 10 computer in iTunes. Luckily, it’s not difficult to perform all the iTunes installation and subscription procedures.

Download iTunes on Windows 10

First of all, make sure to download the correct version of iTunes. Go to this page. It is programmed to recognize whether the page is accessed using Mac or PC. Thus, you should automatically get an offer to download a Windows version of iTunes. Select if you want to receive news from Apple, enter your email address, and click Download Now button.
You will be asked if you want to Install or Safe the iTunes file. The difference between the two is whether you want to install iTunes on Windows 10 now or later. If you want to do that right now, select Install. Otherwise, click Save and you will be able to run the executable file later. When the download process is completed, click Run and follow the on-screen instructions to install iTunes. When the app is installed, click Finish.

Create an Apple ID for Windows 10

Apple ID (also known as iTunes account) is obligatory if you want to buy songs, apps or movies at iTunes. Besides, it allows setting up and using iOS devices, FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, iTunes Match, Find My iPhone and other useful features. Without Apple ID you won’t be able to import CDs into iTunes library.

1. Open iTunes.
2. Navigate to the Account -> Sign In -> Create New Apple ID.
3. Click Continue and agree with the terms and conditions (make sure to read them before that).
4. Enter your email address, password, and confirm them.
5. Answer the security question and press Continue.
6. Confirm your payment options, name, and address.
7. Click Create Apple ID.
8. Then open your email for the iTunes verification link and click it.
9. Click OK to finish.

Authorize Windows 10 PC in iTunes

From now on, iTunes require permission to access media files stored on the target system. Therefore, you will have to authorize your Windows 10 PC in iTunes for getting the ability to use all iTunes services.

1. Open iTunes and open Account.
2. Select Authorizations and click Authorize This Computer.
3. Enter your password and confirm the authorization.
4. Now you can import your media library into iTunes. For that, open File and click Add Folder to Library.
5. Select a file or a whole folder and click Select Folder.
