on Windows

Hello. I am using a Dell Latitude 3540 Laptop and had an old Canon printer that I wanted to replace for a very long time. I finally did with the HP Tango printer, and I was excited to use it. Unfortunately, I can't connect it due to the 0x000003eb error - it says, "Unable to install printer." Any advice would be appreciated.

• Delete all keys under version-3 (right-click > Delete).

Finally, rename the driver folder:

• Press Win + E to open File Explorer (ensure hidden items are visible).
• Navigate to the following location:
  C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\W32X86
• Rename the "3" folder to "3.old."
• Start Print Spooler Service again and see if that helped.

5. Try Clean boot

A clean boot ensures that your computer starts with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, which can help identify if any background software is causing the 0x000003eb error. 

• Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
• Go to the Services tab and tick the Hide all Microsoft services checkbox.
• Select Disable all.
• Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
• Here, right-click on each of the non-Windows entries and select Disable.
• Close down the Task Manager.
• Go to the Boot tab and tick the Safe boot option.
• Restart your device.
