Issue: How to fix Windows 2023-01 updates cause speaker issues?
Hello, I have recently installed 2023-01 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5,4.8,4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 21H2 for x64 (KB5022476) update on Windows, and now I am having issues with my speakers. Solved Answer
Windows updates are crucial software upgrades and security fixes for the Windows operating system. These updates are significant as they eliminate security weaknesses in the system that could be taken advantage of by cybercriminals and malicious software to gain unauthorized entry into a computer.
In addition, they offer new features and enhancements to the operating system, ensuring that it operates smoothly and efficiently. By keeping the system updated, it will be protected against threats and perform at its best. It is therefore recommended to frequently check for and install Windows updates to maintain the system's security and stay up-to-date.
Unfortunately, this routine process sometimes backfires, as there have been numerous reports of how Windows updates break some previously working features. KB5022476 is one of the updates that was shipped on January's Patch Tuesday, and for some people, it started causing speaker issues.
In January, routine updates are meant to improve the overall system's security, reliability, and quality, although the broken speakers' issue is not a good outcome here. As such, there are plenty of users who would want to fix this issue as soon as possible, and we are here to help.
