I am having a problem even entering gpedit.msc on my win+r isn’t working is there a way you can help me
My task manager recently started acting up out of the blue popping up a thing saying “the code execution cannot proceed because d3d12.dll was not found.Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.”
I have minor knowledge but I need help from a real expert on this matter
The .DLL errors are relatively common, although they can mean many things and stem due to different reasons. Therefore, to fix the issue, you will have to do some troubleshooting.
First of all, the error means that there is something wrong with the d3d12.dll file, so replacing it with a working copy would solve the problem. However, we do not recommend downloading such files from the internet - it might be corrupt, infected, and bring all types of problems.
Instead, you can do many things trying to fix the issue, for example:
1. Update Windows to the latest version
2. Re-install Microsoft Windows Visual C++ - you can find it in the Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program
3. Uninstall latest Windows updates - go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program > View installed updates
4. Run an SFC scan
5. Scan your machine for malware using Microsoft Defender or another reputable security application
6. Re-register the d3d12.dll file via the Command Prompt
7. Re-install the problematic app (you will find the app name at the top of the error message pop-up)
If you are unaware of how to perform these steps, you could follow a guide we prepared for a similar problem here.
Note, if you are struggling to use any of the Win +[key] commands, you can always type the name into Windows search and search through results.
Good luck
