ive searched the internet til im exhausted with just about every option i can find and none are working as advertised. my issue is an ipad air1 i bought second hand, and i mean second hand literally i got it at a yard sale. the saler isnt suspicious to me so i kno the story behind it is true. but the previous owner is deceased so the password and apple i.d cannot b aquired. apple will not accept an receipt from a non-reputed saler thus i cannot obtain help in-store. is there any way at all i can remove this id short of illegal(and at this point i might consider one of those) or expensive assistance. please help?

For future reference, please do not buy devices from "shady" individuals, as you are always facing a risk of being scammed. Always ask the device to be booted, and see if "Set up your iPhone" screen shows up instead of the prompt that asks you to enter Apple ID and a password. In the case of the latter, the phone has not been reset to factory settings - ask the owner to do that before purchasing.
Now, dealing with your current situation is very difficult. Asking Apple to help is one of the most convenient and "right" choices. However, if the support declined to help you, we will try to help you instead.
In some cases, you can bypass the activation lock by changing your DNS settings, so you can try that. Besides that, there is little you can do, although there are plenty of dodgy services that offer to unlock your device for some fee. Keep in mind that, if you choose to use these services, you might get scammed and lose money in the process.
