Hi, I have been trying to install Tap Windows Adapter V9. Whenever I try to install it, there would be an error message stating that an error occurred while installing. I went to OpenVPN’s forums to search for solutions and tried out the solutions suggested there but none of her worked for me. Some of the solutions I tried out include:
Disabling my secure boot and turning out nointegrityheck in my command prompt, disabling the firewall from my security software and trying to add Ethernet adapter from the utilities folder under Tap windows folder in program files.
I don’t get what is wrong with my OS and I would not want to reset my laptop as it contains lots of important data

before you try installing Tap Windows Adapter, make sure you uninstall the driver and related components. For that:
1. Terminate your VPN connection and close the VPN-related program;
2. Click Windows key + R, enter without quotes: “devmgmt.msc”;
3. Click Enter;
4. When in Device Manager, find Network adapters and click on the drop-down menu;
5. Find Tap – Windows Adapter V9, right-click on it and select Uninstall device.
Now launch your VPN service and wait until it prompts you to install the missing driver.
