I have a flash drive to fix error OXC0000185 but booting up my Dell it doesn’t even give me the option to select the USB. Tried to disable the boot order and it still won’t do anything but boot to that error screen and unless I repeatedly tap F8 or F12 it does nothing else. Power button immediately turns machine off and on none of the normal fanfare of.booting up. What am I doing wrong?

There are two reasons why your device does not recognize the USB: it is either not a bootable one, or the BIOS is not set up correctly. Here's what to do:
You should go to the BIOS again (it is usually achieved by pressing F8 or F12, but it depends on the model of your computer) and go to the Boot tab. Make sure Secure Boot is turned OFF, and Legacy Boot is ON. After the restart, you should pick the USB drive from the options, and then restart again.
If that does not work, make sure you actually created a bootable USB.
